Design for Heather

This is a design I came up with a wonderful bride-to-be named Heather. Heather and I have been conversing for at least a month or so now, and although she had a hard time making up her mind (and I mean this in the most endearing way) I think we have nailed down an awesome design for her.

This is a 4x9 tea length invitation. This invitation starts with an eggplant purple cardstock and is then layered with antique gold metallic card stock. Then is layered with an ivory linen invitation. The invitation is then hand stamped and embossed in an eggplant purple. Personalized monogram and belly band in gold ribbon is added for the finishing touch.

She left me a wonderful note after I sent her pictures... and it really helped to solidify why I have decided to take this on as a side business... here is what she said...

"Hey Jen,I LOVE LOVE LOVE the invitations. They look awesome! You did such a great job and are so talented. It is exactly what I want!!!! I can't tell you how excited I was last night when I saw the pictures. I think it looks great with the Gold."

So needless to say another happy customer makes me happy!! I am so happy to be working with such a great gal!!

New Designs

Here are some of my newer designs.

A custom design for Nora

Okay... so now that the inauguration is finally over (I work for the government and have been crazy busy due to it).... I can starting posting some more of my invitations. This design is for a bride-to-be named Nora. She came to me requesting a pocketfold invitation, but to cut costs she requested it be unassembled. I am definitely into working with brides on all types of budgets, but it has been difficult in some sense to make it cost effective for me (she is dead set on a pocketfold) as well as giving her her dream wedding invitation. She really wanted a gold embossed paper I have used in previous wedding invitation designs, however it is a bit pricey. So, this invitation I designed for her includes a bit of the embossed gold paper for the belly band and then just a metallic antique gold for the layer behind the invitation. I also included a simple monogram for the front... which will probably change a bit if she decides to order her invitations from me. But here is what I came up with. Simple and elegant.

Designs for Megan

I designed these invitations for an awesome bride-to-be Megan. She lives in Ontario, Canada and loves my designs so much she is willing to pay for the high shipping prices lol. Actually they don't seem to be so bad. Although I messed up and quoted her $3 for shipping because that is what the post office quoted me to send a sample invite. Well I get to the post office and fill out a priority mail shipping envelope and shipping comes out to $10. But this business is all a learning process. It is probably because of the priority shipping envelope, but oh well, at least I didn't lose money. lol.
But I really hope these invitations are exactly what she is looking for. The pink azalea/magenta/fuschia color is a hard paper color to pin down!! So keeping my fingers crossed that she is loving the color!

Damask Drink Umbrellas

One of my awesome clients Kate has requested that I make her some drink umbrellas like this picture!!
I mean how neato is this idea!! I am so excited that Kate has not only asked me to do these for her upcoming wedding, but that she has now given me a new product to sell in my Etsy shop!!! Great idea Kate!!
I will post pictures of my product for Kate as soon as I get to work on them! These are just so darn cute!!

First Post

Okay, so I recently opened up an Etsy shop with wedding stationary, after realizing how much I loved designing my own wedding invitations. Check me out!

Well so far so good, I have been getting lots of interest and a few small sales. I have some bigger ones coming, which I am so pumped about!! Well one of my clients, has not only blogged me, but has recommended that I start my own blog. So after my initial one time post below, which was to blow off steam, I have decided to take the plunge and blog about not only my wedding planning, but my life and my little invitation business as well!! She has an AWESOME blog!!! Check her out at her Bridal Bliss blog!!http://queencitybride.blogspot.com/
Sonya has been an amazing bride to be to work with!!! She has awesome ideas and has just been a complete joy!! She will definitely be remembered as one of my absolute favorite clients to work for, and I am so excited to get started on her invitations!! Check out the designs above to see what I had designed for her. The first pictures are of the initial design, prior to her deciding she desperately wanted a pocketfold. Well I couldn't possibly allow her to not have everything her heart desires, so I designed a beautiful pocketfold invitation for her that was still designed within her limited budget!!
